About #FoodOnEveryTable

With the first major review of the nation’s food system in 75 years now underway, we have a once in a lifetime opportunity to contribute towards a National Food Strategy that ensures everyone is well fed.

British Poultry Council believes that government, businesses and society must work together to deliver a food system that guarantees everyone access to the food that British growers are proud to produce.

Our ‘Food On Every Table’ campaign reinforces that feeding people has to remain at the heart of our society and at the core of our businesses. Government must deliver a sustainable food strategy that guarantees safe, nutritious and affordable British food to British standards for everyone.

We must:

Put food on the table to alleviate hunger.

Maintain a secure supply of food that recognises British standards in post Brexit trade deals.

Use British food as a catalyst for improving health, wellbeing and social care.

Ensure access to labour post-Brexit.

Secure a sustainable future for British food by achieving the UN’s SDGs.

I support the British Poultry Council’s Food On Every Table campaign, and its call for the government to deliver a sustainable food strategy that guarantees safe, nutritious and affordable British food to British standards for everyone.

We all have a role to play in tackling food poverty and ending hunger in the UK. Therefore, I pledge my support to the BPC’s campaign, and ask the government to recognise its 5 key asks, which are as follows:

  1. Putting food on the table to alleviate hunger
  2. Using British food as a catalyst for improving health, wellbeing and social care
  3. Maintaining a secure supply of food that recognises British standards in post-Brexit trade deals
  4. Ensuring access to labour post-Brexit
  5. Securing a sustainable future for British food by achieving the UN’s SDGs

Let’s all work together to put #FoodOnEveryTable.
